Ruim twee jaar geleden sloot de Muziekbibliotheek van de Omroep gedwongen haar deuren na een subsidiestop. Sindsdien liggen in de kelders van het MCO-gebouw meer dan 400.000 klassieke partituren, (jazz)arrangementen en songbooks te verstoffen zonder dat iemand er iets mee kan. Initiatieven om de bibliotheekdiensten te laten herleven maken kleine stapjes voorwaarts. De Gemeente Hilversum zegt er ook zo over te denken. De voormalige beheerders van de bladmuziekcollectie blijven daarvoor vechten door gelegenheden te grijpen om de rijkdom en veelzijdigheid van de collectie aan te tonen.
